Response to the 2019-2020 Budget

Response to the 2019-2020 Budget

Dear Fellow Industry Members,

Financial Secretary Mr Paul Chan delivered the 2019-2020 Budget yesterday. This year's global economic situation is grim, US-China trade war continue, Hong Kong's economy is inevitably affected. However, the tourism industry should continue to improve, which can alleviate the pressure brought by fluctuations in the external economic environment and have a positive effect on society. The Budget has accepted many of my proposals. This year, the HKTB has received an additional allocation of $350 million, which is more than 240 million last year. At the same time, it has allocated additional resources to support the tourism industry and enhance Hong Kong's economic vitality through the development of tourism. I will listen to our members’ opinion and make suggestions to the government as before.

In the period of Budget consultation, I wrote a proposal for the 2019-2020 Budget. I would like to show you a highlight of the Budget and copmare with my suggestions for your reference.
