It is an indisputable fact that the proliferation of unlicensed accommodations and Airbnb have not only affected the operation of hotels and licensed operators, but also the daily life of local residents. I have repeatedly made appointments with relevant officials of the Home Affairs Department and demanded them to address the problems seriously. I also urged the Government to strive to combat unlicensed accommodation. My requests have gained positive responses from the Government. Apart from stepping up law enforcement, the Hotel and Guesthouse Accommodation (Amendment) Bill will be examined after the resumption of the LegCo in October this year.
