Striving To Support Tourism And Related Industries That Faced Extreme Hardship

Requested the Government to Support Travel Agencies

  • Successfully Secured Two Rounds of Additional Support for the Tourism Industry

The epidemic has severely impacted many industries in Hong Kong, especially the tourism industry. Although the Government has launched three rounds of support measures and the "Employment Support Scheme (ESS)", the tourism industry was still in dire straits. To address the serious issue, I have acted together with the representatives of the industry and other LegCo members and repeatedly proposed to the Government to provide continuous support to the tourism industry. I have also actively spoken out on different occasions and received positive responses from the Government. Two rounds of special further subsidies were given to the members of the tourism industry in November 2020 and August 2021 respectively.

I hope that the Government will continue to understand the operation difficulties of the industry and continue to support the tourism industry as and when needed. The recommendation received a positive response from the CE.
